Editor’s Note: The Truth Behind The Scenes

Just checking in with you.

IMG_8599My mentor’s book launch…again…last time I promise… 🙂

Hope you’re well!! I’ve missed you guys! I’ve missed blogging! I have been away briefly with work, which was totally unexpected btw, only returning earlier today. I’m writing this quick post to apologize for the lack of blogs, emails, tweets, over the past few weeks. Truth be told, the hiatus was self inflicted because I wanted to catch up with friends and family, and regain a semblance of normality. I became a little too much like a reclusive weirdo for my taste…

You see, since our one year anniversary I have been feeling burnt out, having reached BCG overkill back in January, after living and breathing this venture day in and out, 24/7. I’ve also been weighing up the pros and cons of fully committing myself to BLACKCITYGIRL for yet another year *insert gritted teeth emoticon here* after giving up just over 365 days already. Even my mentor left me to my own devices on this one, and sure enough it has been the toughest decision ever!

IMG_8465Don’t get me wrong there have been some amazing perks

So pressing the pause button has given me some much needed time out to reassess. What you may have gathered from the tone of this blog, my photos, our Facebook Twitter and Instagram accounts, is that I’m a people person by nature! I love love love socializing, having fun, and I badly missed my spontaneous nights out, brunches, and vacays with friends and family, not to mention my regular shopping sprees. I even kept a little memo calculating the number of days I have gone without shopping, since starting BCGtragic

377 days to be exact without buying a single luxury item

The sacrifice was REAL

Gone are the days where I can afford to be reckless, I now have a litany of responsibilities, which essentially mean I have to be financially prudent at all times. (I can hear my family breathing a collective sigh of relief, lmao.) I have had to grow up and quickly, which has come at the expense of my personal freedom.

Hey I’m human after all, I would probably feel less restless if I had a family or if I was a homebody, but I like to be out and about and enjoy seeing the world. The only way I can describe it is, that moment when you’re in a relationship with someone you love and you discover the excitement and thrill (dopamine) has completely worn off – what do you do next? Dump the person and find your next high? Or embrace the next stage of your relationship?

Well…I’m going to take it one blog post and email, at a time and see through the promises we have made to our emails subscribers. Thanks for sticking around and going through all the highs and lows with me.

Thank you I appreciate you reading this blog and subscribing both here and our emails

The exciting news is

We have some brilliant guest blogs coming soon. Plus a handful of women attended our Skype call last month, and a couple arranged to phone individually, to enable us to focus on their business exclusively which worked out really well.

As I always say, if you’re serious about growing your online presence properly. My mentor and I are only interested in getting you results quickly. We want you to understand the why’s behind the action. Save yourself the time and errors, and give your blog and business the TLC it deserves. Book your call on Saturday 05 April. Though we are flexible throughout the month of March if you need a one-on-one session. P.S Men are very welcome too.

During the 2 hour Skype call we will:

  • Walk you through exactly how to set up your social media accounts properly (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Give you tips on how to communicate effectively with your target audience, and get the best conversion from your web site
  • Teach you how to attract an average of 50,000 people or more on social media per week

All my love,

Yvonne Jane Lorraine. x
